Clarification

I feel awful that I have made some readers feel like I don't want them to read my blog! The "lurker" that I was referring to is someone who I know. It is someone who is no longer in my life. It's not an issue of safety, or thinking that I am going to be stalked and followed wherever I go. It's a matter of not wanting one certain person to know all of my business.

I am one of the worst blog-stalkers out there! Ask my friends! I'm sure that they get many hits daily from me because I am so bored at work. Click as many times as you want on here- I hardly ever notice my blog stats, I just happened to notice one particular one that made me change the way I write on here.

So please, do not think the lurker is you, and click as often as you want.
I started this blog so that my friends and family who I don't see very often could keep up with everything that I do. I am flattered that people who don't know me are interested in reading about my life. So, please do not think you have to limit your viewing or stop reading because I think you are stalking me! Click, read, blog-stalk all you want!

Love my football. Love my friends.

(It would appear based on my StatCounter that I have a lurker who (whom?) I would rather not know where I am going to be every weekend. Therefore, my blogs have been limited in what I say, or I don't say where I've been until after the weekend has passed. Just thought I would explain that since it came up last weekend with some fellow blogger friends.)

That being said, I am happy to report that we had yet another fun-filled weekend in Boone! Jeff and Tracy rented a tiny house at Roaring River Chalets, and we all went up there on Friday. That night, we met Jeff's aunt and uncle at Highland's in Blowing Rock (formerly known at Tijuana Fats) for supper. It was a NASTY night of cold mountain rain, so we ended the night going to the grocery store for tailgate food, and then playing cards at the chalet.

Saturday morning in Blowing Rock seemed like it was going to turn out to be a nice, sunny day for us. WRONG. When we got to Stadium Lot, it was raining and COLD. Luckily, we were all smart enough to have brought gloves and coats just-in-case. We got the tent up, and the cornhole out, and eventually the sun came out for us, but it was still chilly for most of the day. (Hello? It's Boone, and it's football season. What else can you expect?)
Erica got up bright and early Saturday morning to drive up from Greensboro, and I was so happy to see her! Max and Price came by and tailgated with us, and Scott and Crystal were there too. Marie stopped by and hung out for a while, and of course, Rob and Amy came by to visit. The game was a nailbiter, but we beat Furman 26-14. The Black Saturday crowd looked great! Here's a great picture Marie took of the west side stands.

After the game, we headed back to the chalet where we all crashed early. After a yummy breakfast at Sonny's Grill in Blowing Rock, we headed back down the mountain for a day on the couch of watching football. (Panthers won!!) Daniel finally set up our Wii that night too. I'm super excited about upcoming plans this weekend, and will be sure to report back. Trivia tomorrow night with Carmen! Join us!!

Football, Wedding, Football, Wedding

You may have heard that my Mountaineers beat those mean Georgia Southern Eagles on Saturday... Daniel and I were in Salisbury for a wedding that afternoon, but thanks to Rob and Allison, we were given up-to-the-minute score information via text messages in the church. (I know, I'm a heathen, but it was a VERY IMPORTANT GAME. I think God understood the neccessity.) Between the ceremony and the reception, we were able to listen to the last quarter of the game in the car, and boy oh boy, what a quarter it was! It was a great win for us, but I wish it had been a little less stressful to listen to.
So, the wedding was beautiful! Stephanie and Andy always look so happy together, and she was a very pretty bride. We sat with Jeff's mom at the reception, and it was fun talking to her- it's been years since I've seen her. Jeff's great-uncle asked him if I was his wife, and I had to correct him and tell him that I am Jeff's girlfriend, and that the woman he was sitting next to was his wife. Tracy makes sure I know my place.
Allison and I went to Boone yesterday because I had to try on a pair of shoes at Payless, and the closest one is in Lenoir. Hello? Only another 30 minutes to Boone- sounded like the perfect opportunity for a daycation to our favorite town! We went to Macado's to watch the first half of the Panthers game. The food was great, but the TVs and the other bar patrons were less than desirable. So, we watched the second half at The Library, which I'm happy to say has reopened. Marie came to visit us, and we scarfed down some nachos and cheese while watching the Panthers whoop up on the Saints. Marie also brought us both a bag of apples from her apple tree!!
I booked our flight for David and April's wedding today, and got a good deal! If you're looking to fly somewhere- check out the prices. They seem to be lower right now for some reason. The hotel might cost us more than the flight though- we're still working on that. Tomorrow is the Awards Banquet for work, which means I don't have to "work" all day since I am on the Social Committee. Yay!

Me = Worst. Blogger. Ever.

I know! I know! I haven't been on here in forever!! Sorry! 2 weeks ago, I was at a 4-day conference in Durham, and I checked out of the whole blog/internet thing. I had a great time at the conference though! All of the speakers were very good the whole week, and I actually learned quite a bit. The after-hours were fun too! From there, I went home, unpacked, did a load of laundry, repacked, and we went up to Boone to meet Jeff and Tracy at a really nice cabin Jeff's dad and Alice rented for the weekend. There were 8 of us staying there all weekend for the App/Citadel game. There was a fire pit and a hot tub, and a ridiculous amount of food!! We had a great time, and a winning game on top of that. This past weekend, Daniel and I were at Litchfield Beach with his parents for a long weekend. It rained from the time we got there on Friday, until we left on Monday. Daniel and I spent the majority of our time at a sports bar watching football from Friday night until Sunday night. (The Mountaineer Rd sign welcomed us as we walked in!) We did eat a lot of yummy food every night too though. And Cheryl and I attempted to go to the beach when the rain stopped on Sunday, but the beach was FREEZING cold and sooooo windy, that I think I only lasted about 30 minutes out there. Oh well, maybe I'll get a tan next year... It's back to work today. I got a new computer last week, and new flat screen dual monitors today, so maybe I'll get a thing or two done this week... Big App game this weekend against Georgia Southern. We won't make it down to Statesboro, but we'll be cheering them on! We'll be at a wedding on Saturday instead- otherwise we'd be there!
