Book Meme

I've been tagged by Anna, but I'm not an avid reader. Sure, I love my chicklits, but that's about the extent of it. (Unless US Weekly and celebrity gossip blogs count? Didn't think so...) Anyway, here goes nothing...
1) One book that changed your life: uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
2) One book that you read more than once: Back in the day- any of the Baby-Sitters Club books, anything by Judy Blume or Beverly Cleary...
3) One book you’d want on a deserted island: Good grief. That's just too much pressure to pick the ONE book that I'd have to read again and again and again....
4) One book that made you laugh:
"The Second Assistant: A tale from the bottom of the Hollywood ladder"
5) One book that made you cry:
"Little Earthquakes". I'm such a crybaby- it doesn't take much!
6) One book you wish you’d written: 4 Blondes. It was a bad book, but it's the book they based Sex and the City on!
7) One book you wish had never been written: I'm sure there are a few that I had to read in high school and college that I would prefer didn't exist, but none come to mind right now.
8) One book you’re currently reading:
Asking for Trouble
9) One book you’ve been meaning to read: Whatever is in my pile!

10) Tag five people: Allison, Pigs, Eddie, Joan, and Rob.

People are saying they are tired of seeing my last post...

So, Pigs is bugging me to put up a new post, but I am just not in the blogging spirit these days. Let's see... Our girls weekend in Savannah was a BLAST. We laughed and danced all weekend long, and now we have many stories to tell for years to come. Erica met a man down there who we named Pretty Boy Neal, because, well, he's pretty. He's called her TWICE already and there are talks of him coming to visit her soon. Here we are all at Tubby's one night:

There are a lot of pictures like this one in my set over on Flickr. (Where you can also see PBN.) We went on a haunted pub crawl. That was spooky- especially after we looked at the pictures Allison took there and we saw all of the creepy orbs that showed up:
Spooooooooooooooky orbs!

Erica said she's going to email the pictures to TAPS to get their take on it. This was taken upstairs on the 3rd floor of Moon River Brewing Company. The tour doesn't take you up there, but one of the bartenders about scared the pee out of Erica when he came storming down the stairs out of nowhere, and he ended up taking us all up there because he felt bad about scaring her. So that was pretty neat. This is the place where that sci-fi channel ghosthunters show did their halloween special from last year. yikes. Anywho, I highly recommend Savannah for a girls-only weekend. We had soooo much fun, and the dance clubs are all open until 3am!

We are actually staying home this weekend! Can you believe it?! Appalachian is playing at Georgia Southern, and I think Allison and I are going to the Hickory Tavern to watch it with all of the alumni from this area. If we don't go there, we can just watch it at my house. Daniel has big plans to stain our deck and power-wash the house on Saturday. Woo! Tonight, we're meeting everyone out to eat at Applebee's. (Because we have a gift card- After working there for so many years, I wouldn't eat there otherwise...) Maybe we'll go bowling or something Saturday night... We haven't done that since Cinco De Mayo, and I think we've all fully recovered from all of that debauchery by now. (I used your favorite word Allison!)

This time tomorrow I'll be sitting on River Street, nursing a Wet Willie...

I am happy to report that the weather forecast for Savannah will be PERFECT for our girls-only weekend! Allison and I are leaving bright and early tomorrow morning, and Erica C. and Andrea will meet us there later that day. Laurie can't go because she's a really good daughter to her mom, but hopefully next year she will be able to go with us. Last night I got my pedicure (Barbie PINK!), and after I pack tonight, I'll be ready to go! Woo! (Those of you wondering how Daniel will ever survive a weekend without me- he is going to Southern Pines to play "fancy" golf and visit my friend David.)
Appalachian is playing Wofford at home Saturday, and I am bummed that I will miss it, but I will be watching for the score on ESPN from whatever bar I will be in! I'll also miss the Panthers game on Sunday, but it might be better if I don't watch that one...
Oh, and I am LOVING my Panic! At the Disco cd. You just can't sit still listening to it.

Erica invited me to the Panthers game with her yesterday! And we got free hats!!! AND THE PANTHERS BEAT THE BROWNS!!! Woot! Appalachian beat Chattanooga Saturday too, so it was a great weekend for both of my teams!

Daniel and I went to Greensboro after work on Friday, and we went out to eat with my parents. Monterrey's... mmmmm.... After supper, we were both too tired to meet anybody out because we had gone out Thursday night with the crazy planners. (Sidenote: The Tap Room has a reeeally good Summer Ale on tap...) Anywho, Saturday was miserable weather- 45 degrees and raining. yuck. So I wanted some Tripp's Baked Potato Soup.. mmmmm.... Then Daniel and I went to the new Super Target where we ran into 3/5 of the Katz family AND Susan and Jeremy. Jefferson Target is the new Cheers: Where Everybody Knows Your Name! The rest of the afternoon consisted of sitting on the couch and watching football with Dad and Daniel. It was a perfect day for it! Then we went out to eat at a new restaurant in Burlington. It's called Crazyfire, and it's Mongolian..... hmmm.... So, here's how it works: You get a bowl, and go down the buffet line that starts with raw meat. (Choices include: white or dark meat chicken, pork, beef, sausage, crab, shrimp, calamari...) Then you choose vegetables, then the sauces and spices you want. Then you give your bowl to the "chefs" who throw it all on this big wheel where they bang and clang these big metal stick things and cook your food. It is then served to you on a big plate with a scoop full of rice. It was all very.... interesting for me. After that, Daniel and I met up with John and Emily at the Pour House for some pool and beer. Erica met up with us there, and that's when she asked if I wanted to go to the game with her yesterday! Yay! We had so much fun. Even though the weather was all cold and drizzly, Erica and I laughed all day long.

Now I only have a 4-day week because Friday, I leave for Savannah for a girl's weekend! Woo!!!

Homecoming was so much fun! The stadium was packed with a record breaking crowd of 26,620 people. Alisa took this picture of Daniel and me. It's nice having a hubby who's a foot taller than you when you have people standing in front of you blocking your view!

Here are all of my pictures from Saturday.
