Tales from the Bonk Family Travels

Merry Late Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!!! We've been pretty busy the past couple of weeks. The day after the big win in Chattanooga, Daniel and I headed down to Spartanburg, SC to have Christmas with his dad's side of the family. That night, we headed up to Madison to have our own family Christmas with Daniel's parents and Ben and Carrie. Check out Carrie's stash of presents!

Woah! So many presents!

The week leading up to Christmas, Daniel and I "worked". Saturday night (Christmas Eve Eve), we met Erica, Neal, Tracy, Shay, and Monica at Sgt. Peppers, then we ended up at the Tavern later that night.

Daniel and I went to my parents' house in Greensboro on Christmas Eve, and later that night, my sister and her hubby and baby came there too. We had all the Bonk's over for Christmas supper and presents that night also. And RuRu got to meet her newest great-grandson!

Christmas morning, we opened our Santa presents and then headed to my aunt and uncle's in Charlotte. My cousin Christy was there with her new baby who is 2 months older than Piglet. Mama Elise talked and posed with both babies:

After lunch in Charlotte, Daniel and I continued our Christmas tour down to Saluda, SC where his mom's whole family gathers for Christmas. Daniel, Ben, David, Sarah, Katie, and I all played cards on Christmas night (SheistaNoggin!)

Cheers and Merry Christmas!

The next day, Daniel, Ben, David, and I went an hour to Columbia because I had a hankerin' for some Mellow Mushroom Pesto Pie. mmmmm.... That night, we sang Christmas Carols and opened presents. It gets crazy in that house with the present opening- I hope nothing was lost in the shuffle!

Wednesday, we drove back home where I unpacked, repacked, and headed back to Greensboro so I could visit with my sister and Piglet for a little longer. Erica and Lacie came over to meet him too, and I went over to Erica's new house that night. The inevitable flight back to Dallas was Thursday at 5, so Baby Piglet left around 3, and I left shortly after that. Erica came over last night and we made some super yummy asian chicken wraps for supper and watched a movie. All in all a very good Christmas! Tomorrow night is Allison's New Year's Eve Eve/New Year's Eve Squared/New Year's Adam party!

Final Thoughts... How CUTE is this little booger?!

From me to you

It would appear that I will NOT be sending out Christmas cards this year because, well, I'm just not in the mood. I'm ready for Christmas and all that, I just don't want to do cards or decorate this year. Call me a scrooge. Whatever. I'm okay with that. In lieu of a card though, I'd like to wish you a merry christmas with a little dance...

Here's what to watch for on ESPN2 Friday night!

Allison's Best. Ever. Sign:

Mine is not quite ready yet, but it says something along the lines of Yosef being a paternal figure... Oh, and the other one won't make it on tv anyway, so I just won't mention it here. Go Apps!

CHATTANOOGA BABY!!!

Don't you just love it when your team wins 27 games in a row at their home stadium?! Yep. Another Saturday, another win for Appalachian! We did a little tailgating with Jeff, Tracy, Chad, David S, Alisa, Mike, and Laurie before the game. Alisa and I cut out of the game early to get in line for Chattanooga tickets. There were only about 5 people in front of us by the time the game ended and tickets finally went on sale. (And about 1000 people behind us in line!) So I missed the whole field-rushing/goal-post-coming-down thing, but I got my 'nooga tickets! 12 of them, in fact. I hear that the game is selling out very quickly today, so I'm glad we all got ours. We'll be staying at Ben and Carrie's house in downtown Chattanooga because they ROCK. So if you need me Friday, you know where I'll be! Watch for us on ESPN2 at 8pm. Allison and I are going to make signs... GO APPS!!!

Oh, and let me give some shout-outs: CONGRATULATIONS to Alisa!!! She graduated from App yesterday and told Chancellor Peacock "Going for 2!" when she hugged him on stage! woot! Thanks for having us over for your party yesterday. We had a good time and we loved meeting your family! And CONGARTULATIONS [sic] to Master Sarah for finishing her presentation thingy-doo for her masters degree that she had to do last week!

I said it's great! to be! a Mountaineer! (And to know other Mountaineers!)

Because I have the bestest friends in all of the land and because they have the bestest most generous co-workers in all of the land, Daniel and I and 3 of our friends will be sitting in Yosef seats on the 50-yard-line at the game on Saturday, AND we will be tailgating in... wait for it... STADIUM LOT. It's like the holy grail of Appalachian State Football.
We also were miraculously able to book a hotel room in Boone for Saturday night, so we'll be able to go out on the town to celebrate our victorious Mountaineers that night.
Be sure to watch for us Saturday at 4pm on ESPN - I'll be the crazy loud girl in the bright yellow coat screaming my team on to Chattanooga!!!
