My Weekend as a Golf Widow
Yes, the little white ball spent much more time with my husband this weekend than I did. He left Thursday night and headed to the beach for a boy's weekend of golf. My friend Anthony got married on Saturday, and I was left to navigate my way to his rehearsal party Friday night on my own. After taking an hour of vacation time to get off work early on Friday afternoon to get to the party at 7pm, I looked at the invitation on my way out the door and saw the party was not until 8pm. Oops. Once I finally hit the road to go to the party, the directions I was given sent me on a crazy goosechase all over western Winston Salem. 45 minutes later, I finally arrived at the party. John H., my cell phone, and Google Maps were my saving grace that night. During the toasts at the party, I had a major coughing fit for which I had to excuse myself from the room to get under control. I left shortly after that, but at least I was able to make an appearance and talk to people I haven't seen in a long time. On my way to Greensboro after the party, Jeff called and invited me to go out with him, Tracy, and Chad. Yay! We went to Natty Green's downtown, then we had some of the best. pizza. ever. at some pizza place on Elm St. next to the N-Club. Apparently the owner had a bit part in The Godfather? I dunno, but it was GOOD pizza.
Daniel drove to Greensboro Saturday morning because he was required to go to the wedding with me that afternoon. The wedding was at 4pm, and we met Crystal and Scott and Michelle and Heath in the parking lot so we could all sit together in the church. It was a Greek wedding, which was new to all of us, and it was a very interesting wedding ceremony. I liked all of the symobols and traditions they went through. Daniel stayed at the reception for a couple of hours, but he had to hit the road and get back to the beach. I was pretty bummed when they asked for all married couples to get on the dance floor 5 minutes after he left. But, at least I had a lot of friends there. :)

After Deanna and Anthony left the reception, John, Emily, and I met John and Cassie and Adam and Jill at Chili's. Laura and Monte joined us later too. It was good to see everyone since I don't see them too often.
Sunday, Allison and I went up to Boone just 'cause. We went to the shroom first, and who should we see but the newlyweds, Anthony and Deanna! Crazy. After we ate, we went up on King Street to do a little shopping. Oh, and we had a beer and watched the Seattle/Chicago game at Macado's. We also made a little trip to 4th floor Rankin and made our marks on our favorite floor on all of ASU's campus. :)

Sunday night, Allison and I met Andrea, Stephen, and Tyson for supper at the Tap Room. Stephen did what he does best...

Yesterday was a lazy day for me. I slept in late, then stayed on the couch for most of the day. Daniel got home around 3 from his golf trip, and we met Allison and Jared at the Tavern to watch the Appalachian vs Western game. Now it's back to work again, but at least it's only a 4-day week.
