No babies yet!

We were able to feel them moving around in her belly last night though! We're letting her stay in our bedroom during the day, and last night, she learned how to get up on the bed where she was able to snuggle up with Daniel. (She has him wrapped around her little paw finger.) But, it's back to her bathroom at night so that Maggie and Buddha can sleep in our bed like they are used to doing. She's back in our room today though, let's just hope she doesn't have the babies under our bed!

Lil' Miss Grumpypants

When LuLu first came here last week, she was such a sweetheart. She wanted nothing but love. Well, and food. Now that she's moving right along in her pregnancy though, she is becoming more and more sensitive and downright grumpy! She fusses and squeaks if we touch her anywhere but her head or neck, and don't even try to pick her up! I guess her belly is sensitive, and I am sure the hormones are raging and making her a little grumpy. I was telling Pigs all about this, and she sympathized with poor LuLu. She said that she felt the same way throughout the last month of her pregnancy, and suggested that I give LuLu the remote, an US Weekly, and a gallon of ice cream.

ME-OWWWW

Daniel and I left work early yesterday for LuLu's 4:50 vet appointment, only to come home with no kitty to be found. I cancelled the appointment and rescheduled for this afternoon. Then I went outside and here comes LuLu waddling up the driveway at 5:10 - the time I normally get home from work. (She waddles with her big ole pregnant belly. It's sooooo cute.) I called the vet to see if it was too late to take her in, and it was. So today little LuLu is locked up in our garage until I get home at 4:40 to take her to the vet. Poor thing. At least it's only one day.

Daniel cleaned out Maggie and Buddha's litter boxes yesterday afternoon. This is a job that requires the hose outside because the boxes are so big, and LuLu was very interested in what he was doing. She was sitting on the hose-box-thing watching his every move, when we heard a primal scream and hiss come out of Maggie from inside the house. Well, I just had to get my camera and tape her after that. Here's the result. It's nowhere near the volume of the first scream, but it's still pretty good. And Daniel's part in the video makes me giggle.

Mama Kitty!

We are fostering a pregnant kitty! She came to us Tuesday night, and we let her sleep in our bathroom because it was cold and rainy. We put her out in the garage Wednesday morning, but she was gone when we came home for lunch. Then she came back last night when we got home, so we put her back in the warm bathroom for the night. I let her out in the house for a little bit, but there was a lot of hissing and fussing between her and Maggie, and a few hisses from Buddha. So I put her back in the bathroom. They are good to leave her alone as long as she's behind closed doors! I took a few pictures of her in there, and a video of her sitting on my lap. She's such a sweetie. I wish I knew when those babies were gonna get here! Oh, and I'm happy to report that she used the litter box last night! (Unlike her first night here...)

Me and the new kitty!

UPDATE: We are taking her to the vet today, and after hearing how much it is going to cost for an exam, blood tests, and deworming, we've decided to keep her as an outdoor kitty. Now we need a name for the little stinker...

UPDATE: Her name is LuLu!

Happy Birthday to Ben!!!

It was a successful surprise party!!! Ben had NO idea. When he came in the door, we all yelled SURPRISE and threw confetti at him, and he walked back out of the door!

He truly had no clue that he'd walk in to see all of us there. Luckily, we did not frighten him away for good, and he came back in the house:

There were balloons and streamers and confetti and 4th of July ribbon (?). We all had a great time decorating the house, and some people decorated themselves as well...
um... yeah...
There was also a pinata that Carrie bought at the "Impenetrable Pinata Store", but Ben was finally able to bust it open. (At the expense of the poor candy inside.) You can see here that it's still in tact. We let him take the grill cover blindfold off his head and attack it with his hands after this was taken...

Ben KILLS the pinata
Grill Master Shane cooked up all of the hamburgers and GIANT hot dogs Carrie bought, and there were 2 birthday cakes for Ben too! Oh, and there were candy necklaces!
There were candy necklaces there!
Ben's college roommate, Horton, was there too. At 6'8" and 7'4", Ben and The Ogre are in a whole different atmosphere than the rest of us...
I just stood there while they had a conversation in their own atmosphere up there.
Katie, Horton, Sarah
We all went out dancing later that night and had a very good time. It was a long ride home Sunday, but it was worth it for all the fun we had! Next up... Daniel's birthday in August! Woo!!!
Group Shot!

The neverending week finally comes to a close with a BASH

It's finally FRIDAY!!!!! I can't believe the weekend is actually here. This has been such a long boring week for me at work. Probably because I've been so excited about this weekend! Tonight, Sarah is coming to our house, and we're headed to Daniel's parent's house where we're meeting David and Katie. Then tomorrow morning, Shane and Heidi are picking us up and we're all going to Chattanooga for Ben's surprise birthday party!!! Roger and Cheryl are coming too! All of us are the big surprise because he has no idea we are coming to see him! Carrie has been planning all of this for about a month now, and she's done such a good job at keeping it all secret. (Even though she has been dying to tell him since day one!) It's going to be a lot of fun.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEN!!!

Photoshop Fun

I sent my friend Erica a very nice looking picture of Justin Timberlake on the cover of Entertainment Weekly magazine last week:

She replied about an hour later with her own version of the magazine cover featuring her boyfriend (and hero!), Neal:

She wants to take a poll to see which is hotter? It's a tough choice! Keep Neal in your prayers while he serves in Iraq! (Does that help sway your vote?)

So much for our "Snow Day"

Yesterday, all we heard about was how much snow we would be getting today. It was going to start snowing before dawn, then turn to sleet and freezing rain, and this was going to be the BIG ONE. Yes, get all your milk and bread now people! It's going to be AWFUL and you're going to be stuck in a powerless house for days! Yeah... notsomuch. It would appear it missed us. (I'm where the X is. North of the SNOW.)
