I just realized that the last post would make more sense with an explanation...

Last weekend, Daniel ran in a half-marathon in Virginia Beach. Tracy's mom, dad, and sister all ran in the full marathon also, so she and Jeff came with us for a fun weekend getaway! We got there late Friday night, and checked into our nice oceanfront room. Saturday was bright and sunshiny, and we all got u

p for a yummy breakfast at some Waffle place. After driving all around the beach, we ended up at Sharx bar and grill where we spent the day watching basketball, eating, drinking, and playing cornhole and other fun games. That night, we went out to eat with Tracy's family, then to

ok Daniel back to the hotel so he could get a good night's rest before his run in the morning. Jeff, Tracy and I went to the hotel bar where we met some very nice locals. We ended up going to another bar with one of them and had a fun night! Then we got up bright and early to cheer Daniel on as he ran by our hotel at the 12-mile mark. He did such a good job coming in at just under 2 hours!! He and Jeff went in the freezing cold ocean when he got back, then they relaxed in the hotel hot tub for a while before we headed home on Sunday. When you last heard from Katie Bonk...

... I had just returned from a fun weekend at the beach... The next weekend was spent... get this.... AT HOME! All 2 days! At home!!! We went out that Friday night with Allison, Mike, and Laurie to Sergeant Peppers, then back to Mike and Laurie's house. We don't hang out with them enough. Must make effort to see them more. (They also have one of LuLu's babies- little Bean.) Daniel and I spent valentine's day shopping, I got 6 inches cut off my hair (which no one noticed!), then we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant and spent the afternoon/early evening at the bar splitting Dos Equis pitchers.

The next week, Allison and I went to the NCGIS conference in Raleigh on

Wednesday, and Daniel and the rest of the COG joined us there Thursday-Friday. Had a blast, as always. (That's the conference where Daniel and I met in 2000... awwwwe...) Erica came to visit us that weekend, and we went to eat at the Tap Room, then home to play Wii. (Daniel has some serious hoola-hoop and tight-rope-walking skills!) As always when Erica's around, we laughed A LOT.

The last weekend in February was spent in Atlanta for Dennis and Chad's 30th birthday bash. SO. MUCH. FUN. Pictures can be seen here. We also went to my sister's house and had a very nice visit with her and the boys. (Two completely different worlds going from Chads, to Pigs, and back to Chad's!)

And it SNOWED when we got home that Sunday!

Then we went to Daniel's parents' house for a relaxing weekend. His mom and I went shopping for her birthday present, Daniel played (too much) golf, and we saw Yes Man at the Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company.

Last weekend, we stayed home AGAIN! Saturday night, we went to the Tap Room and then bowling with Allison, Laurie, Max, and Nick. Fun times. The best part was being the only sober one with Daniel, Max, and Nick in Wal Mart around midnight. Among other things, they wanted to give flowers (from the refrigerated section) to random girls and then when the girls realize the flowers weren't paid for, they were going to tell them, "I don't know you like that!"

I also took a defensive driving course for work last week. LuLu had her 3rd "birthday" on February 13th, and her babies' 2nd birthday was last Sunday. My friends Alan and Lisa got married at Jekyll Island on St Patrick's Day! And my grandmother, Mama Elise, turns 99 tomorrow!!! I think that's all of my latest news...
